Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and ACLS/BLS certification. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a 32-bed Neuro Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting - Patients include those with trachs, CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, psychiatric issues, and brain tumors - Patient ratio is 1:4 with central monitoring for telemetry - Night shifts (7PM-7AM) with 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks - Holiday work is based on unit rotation - Float to other telemetry units and tele overflow in ICU may be required - Cerner EMR and WOWs are used on the unit - Two days of floor-specific orientation provided - Responsibilities include bedside reporting and titration of critical drips - Fast-paced, high-turnaround environment with average length of stay of 4-5 days - Support staff includes nurse aides, SWAT RN for difficult IVs, 24/7 RT, and pharmacy - Central monitoring for telemetry and no ventilator patients on the unit - Team includes a charge nurse who takes a light patient assignment - Steel gray scrubs are required - Males must be clean-shaven for fit testing and all staff must have natural hair color with no facial piercings - First-time travelers are welcome to apply /n /n Requirements/n - Active AZ or compact RN license required and must be current at time of consideration - Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, including Level 1 trauma experience - Certifications required: ACLS and BLS - Must be able to titrate Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips - Must be able to interpret EKGs and pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted) - Successful completion of SIMs Lab skills on sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes required on day one - Must live at least 50 miles from the facility as determined by driver’s license - References required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years - Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the last year /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-657956.
