Technologist Position Summary The Bone Densitometry Technologist is
responsible for performing high-quality DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray
Absorptiometry) scans to assess bone density and support diagnostic
evaluations. This role involves preparing and positioning patients,
operating imaging equipment according to radiologist protocols, and
ensuring accurate image processing and quality control. The
technologist practices radiation safety, maintains equipment, and
provides exceptional patient care while adhering to organizational
standards of excellence. This position requires strong technical
skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work
collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The
technologist must be flexible to work across multiple locations and
varied shifts, demonstrating dependability and a commitment to
continuous learning and professional development. Bone Densitometry
Technologist Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepares and
positions patient for Dexa procedures. Explains procedures to
patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Moves
imaging equipment into specific positions following the radiologist
protocols and adjust equipment controls to produce images of proper
detail, density and accuracy. Practices radiation protection
techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. Process
images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
Demonstrates a commitment to “World Class Customer Service”.
Prepares images for Dexa Quality Control, radiologist and
requesting physicians. Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses
malfunctions, and arranges for repairs as needed. Complete forms
and maintains records, logs and reports of work performed. Restore
prior images and preform rate of change as needed per SMIL
radiologist protocol. Must be flexible to work at multiple
locations. Must be flexible to work varied shifts. Other duties may
be assigned. Bone Densitometry Technologist Specific Job Knowledge,

Opportunities Requirements: Education and/or Experience Associate’s
degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical
school Certificates, Licenses, Registrations MRTBE (CRT) ARRT (R)
CPR Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, use hands,
fingers and arms to handle, feel and reach, standing, walking,
bending, and sitting. The employee must frequently lift or move up
to 25 pounds and on occasion lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
and ability to adjust focus.
