Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Since 1977, Sojourner Center has
been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their
children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives
by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000
adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a
broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while
working with professionals in the field on education, research and
advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence. Job Summary:
the Assistant Manager is responsible for implementing, leading,
monitoring, and supervising Sojourner Centers Case Management Team.
The position responsibilities include providing direct service
leadership for Shelter Case Managers and Workforce Development Case
Managers. Additional functions include staff skill development with
regard to service delivery and adherence to agency policies and
procedures; evaluation of the services offered and the needs of
participants; collaboration with other departments in the agency to
coordinate services. Ensures case management services and program
elements follow a trauma-informed approach and align with Sojourner
Center’s philosophy of care. Schedule: Monday-Friday Duties
include: Provides support, training, and resources for all case
management staff in Crisis Shelter and Workforce Development
Program. Collaborates and cultivates positive relationships with
community education and workforce developments systems and
agencies. Including apprenticeship opportunities, and job
opportunities for participants at local businesses/industries.
Works with businesses to identify needs and develop appropriate
ongoing training including; classes, relevant assessments,
volunteer recruitment, and skill-specific workshops. Will serve as
a liaison for program goal attainment. Works with all other
programs and shelters to identify participants eligible for the
Workforce Development Program. Provides professional development,
team development, domestic and sexual violence training, and
leadership training to Sojourner Center staff. Provides ongoing
supervision and annual reviews to assigned direct reports. Reviews
and offers feedback of daily operations by reviewing Shift Report,
Weekend Prep, and Shift Exchange documentation. Ensures tasks and
prioritizes accordingly during shift, based on coverage needs.
Through daily staff meetings ensures quality service delivery and
attends staffing meetings of participants’ programs. Promotes
culturally appropriate service provision. Works closely with the
Program Managers, recognizes and effectively responds to impacts of
domestic violence and trauma; additionally, provides ongoing
training for staff regarding recognition of and supportive
interventions for domestic violence survivors. Discerns and
prioritizes needs of program participants, staff, and the agency
and takes appropriate action to efficiently and effectively meet
the needs utilizing critical thinking, team problem solving,
program development, and involvement with all levels of management,
as appropriate and by following the On-call Paging Matrix.
Recognizes and effectively responds to impacts of domestic
violence, human trafficking and trauma; identifies/adapts to crisis
events, taking appropriate actions while providing direct services
as necessary. Ensures all contractual obligations both financial
and programmatic are met. Including accurate and timely completion
of data relevant to participant and community partner services and
contractual obligations. This includes ongoing competency-based
assessments, participant interest surveys, community partner
surveys, and participant career interest inventories. Documents
services in accordance with established guidelines and consistent
with QA standards. Supervises the Crisis Shelter Case Managers and
the Workforce Development Case Managers, holds on-call
responsibilities and other duties as from time-to-time assigned.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements Bachelors’ degree in
social work, human services or a related field with 2 years
supervisory experience or; Equivalent combination of education and
experience will be considered; experience in managing a residential
setting is required. Case Management experience; Experience
supervising case management positions highly preferred. Ability to
obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card. Valid Arizona Driver
License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record
acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company. First Aid and
CPR certification. Physical Factors/Working Conditions Stands,
walks, and sits continuously throughout the day. Reaches, stoops,
bends, lifts, carries and manipulates various materials. Utilizes
computer and standard office equipment. Ability to lift up to 50
pounds Some travel between work locations and in the community is
required. Required to accept on-call responsibilities during
assigned evenings/weekends. Other Duties: Performs other duties as
